Scrim and silk

The photograph that we have used as a design source for our hanging has two blue pipes running down at the sides. The colour of these is a good contrast with the greys and greens of the stone.

I have been working on the texture of the peeling paint on these pipes. We decided to put indigo dyed scrim over indigo dyed silk. The photo above is for the left hand side, this is a narrow pipe.

This one opposite is supposed to be wider, at the bottom you can just see where I am doing my version of drawn thread work!! Mostly I'm using simple running stitch.
